Genealogy of the Belcourt Family

How to use GBT?

A Family Tree consists of individuals such as the husband, the wife and the children. An Individual has a mother and a father. That virtually form the basic of the Family Tree also know as Ancestry.

Of course there are exceptions such as not all individuals are married. There are individuals who marry more than once and those who are in a de facto relationship. A de facto relationship, under the Family Law Act 1975, is defined as a relationship between two people (who are not legally married or related by family) who, having regard to all of the circumstances of their relationship, lived together on a genuine domestic basis. The later is included in the tree so long as they live or have lived together as a couple at the same address for over two years without separation.

To familiarise yourself with the system, first search for a name that you know using the First or the Surname or both.

If it is a general search, a list of individuals are displayed.

Click on an individual to find his or her details. From there, you can select Family, Ancestors, Descendants...

A good example of a branch from the Belcourt family is James Glenn. Search for the name and select Family, Ancestors or Descendants.

Charts

Charts are the visual display of a family. You can select the left arrow or the right arrow to display additional details.

It's that simple.

Enjoy.
